At INSD you develop a professional level of practice in the design and manufacturing of contemporary jewelry and associated products. the course is intended for those who are passionate about jewelry. the aim of the course is to train the student as professional jewelry designer who is able to combine creativity, research and innovation to create collections. acquiring the knowledge of the Indian manufacturing practices, the students create jewelry that is in line with current trends in the market and with the image of the chosen clientele.
UG: BACHELORS PROGRAMMES - B.DESIGN- 4 YEARS & BACHELORS - 3 YEARS ( ELIGIBILITY : 10+2 )
1st Semester
- Manual designing: designing with different motives and knowledge of jewellery. shading, rendering of white gold, yellow gold, gemstones etc. costume jewellery: making all jewellery by different types of beads, stones. metallurgy- basic knowledge and theory of all terms used in jewellery.
2nd Semester
- Manual design gemology: basic study of gemstones, shapes; origin, occurence etc. diamond grading: basic knowledge of diamond . there 4cs of grading.
3rd Semester
- Production management designing projects.like state project, country project, detachable project, temple jewellery.gemology- advanced study. diamond grading -advanced study of diamonds.
4th Semester
- Market surveys.cad designing - rhino n matrix.
